Building Enclosure Commissioning (BECx): Ensuring Comfort, Durability, and Health

BECx is a quality-assurance process to ensure that a building, when delivered, meets the owner’s project requirements (OPR). 

Commissioning is not a product. It’s also not testing, HVAC equipment, an individual person, or a stack of paper. 

BECx ensures up-front time and attention to a project that prevents later catastrophic mistakes or omissions. 

In this session, we will review what BECx is within the context of key industry standards: ASHRAE Guideline 0, NIBS Guideline 3, ASTM E2813, and LEED V.4.
