Stewardship Through Existing Building Information Modeling, (eBIM)

Using examples from Quinn Evans Architects’ work at George Washington’s Estate, Mount Vernon, and the Michigan State Capitol, this presentation will explore how existing building information modeling (eBIM) gives both stewards of historic properties the information they need to culturally preserve important sites and owners of existing buildings the ability to associate information with the structure to facilitate efficient maintenance and operations.

In addition to the Mount Vernon and Michigan State Capitol examples and collaboration with NIBS to set up the BIM roadmap for existing structures for a federal agency, this presentation will introduce attendees to the future of historic preservation.
