Bob Pekelnicky joined Degenkolb in 2001 and has worked on numerous seismic evaluations and retrofit projects. His career has focused on taking new and innovative structural engineering concepts from research and applying them to practice.
Pekelnicky is an expert in understanding how earthquakes affect existing buildings and their components, systems, and contents. A recognized leader in earthquake engineering, Pekelnicky devotes much of his time to developing better performance-based earthquake engineering methodologies, building codes, and standards. He is a leader in numerous professional societies, leading or serving on national standards committees to help advance the state of the practice.
