Kevin S. Moore is a Senior Principal and Head of Structural Engineering, Western Region, of Simpson Gumpertz & Heger Inc. Moore has been active in the Structural Engineers Association of California and the Northern California chapter of that association (SEAONC) since 1995 and is the current President of SEAONC. Over his career, Moore has served as chair of numerous technical committees and committees focused on building code development, with a special focus on seismic issues. He is currently a member of the SEI/ASCE Resilience Committee and the chair of the NCSEA Resilience Committee and represents NCSEA with the Building Seismic Safety Council.
Moore is the author of numerous publications and articles on resilience, the design of structural steel construction, timber construction and earthquake engineering. While serving as Chair of the NCSEA Resilience Committee, Moore has engaged with leaders across the country, including those involved in major efforts like Mitigation Saves and the development of Recommended Options for Improving the Built Environment for Post-Earthquake Reoccupancy and Functional Recovery Time (a NIST publication focused on a key contributor to community resilience).
