Poster Session

Session Overview and Format

Graduate students from higher education institutions are invited to submit abstracts to highlight their research on resilience in the built environment.

Posters will be displayed for attendees and sponsors to view throughout the conference. A single intermission will be designated as a Poster Session, where attendees and sponsors are encouraged to review the content, engage with the students, and cast their votes.

Abstract information needed:

  • Title
  • Student Name
  • Institution
  • Brief Description – 500 words or less describing your research and how it ties to resilience in the built environment
  • Size and Format: Posters must be in .PPT and be 48 inches wide by 36 inches tall

NOTE: Students are responsible for printing the posters and bringing them to the event. NIBS will provide each participant with an easel and foam board to which the poster must be attached.

Awards

Overall Winner: Sponsor provides a group of judges to determine the overall winner.

Fan Favorite: Through QR codes and survey, attendees vote for their favorite poster. Results are tallied at the end of the conference.

Both winners will receive a cash equivalent prize provided by the session sponsor.

Deadlines

The deadline to submit a poster session abstract is March 3, 2025. Notifications of acceptance will be sent on or before March 18, 2025.

A digital file of posters will be shared with attendees after the event for future collaboration.

Selection

NIBS will create a volunteer review panel to review the abstracts. Space is limited and not all abstracts will be accepted. Notifications of acceptance will be sent on or before March 18, 2025. Students whose posters have been selected will be provided with complimentary registration for the conference. NIBS is unable to provide travel or housing assistance for selected students. Students are responsible for printing the posters and bringing them to the event. NIBS will provide each participant with an easel and foam board to which the poster must be attached
