Jeremy Williams is program specialist with the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Building Technologies Office. He oversees projects related to building energy codes and standards, which establish minimum energy-efficiency requirements for residential and commercial buildings.

For the past 5+ years, he has represented the Department in its code development activities, including the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) and ANSI/ASHRAE/IES Standard 90.1. He is a voting member for ASHRAE Standard 90.1, and served as the DOE representative on the National Green Building Standard technical committee (2012 and 2015 editions). Jeremy also has a particular interest in energy code compliance and manages a series of research studies designed to ensure that code-intended savings are realized by U.S. homes and businesses.

His educational background includes an M.S. in construction management from Michigan State University, and a B.S. degree in business and education. Prior to joining DOE, he was a high school science instructor, teaching courses in chemistry and physics.
