Building Science Education Workshop (must pre-register, limited space)

Immediately following the BEST6 technical conference, attendees are invited to take part in a four-hour interactive workshop on the future of building science education, examined through the traditional avenues of university degree programs as well as alternative solutions. Titled “How Do We Strengthen Building Science Education Across Disciplines?” this workshop will look at “what’s working now” case studies and work in tailored break-out groups, with the goal producing a white paper on strengthening building science education.

Learning Objective 1: Explore success case studies/best practices of building science education in traditional university programs and alternative settings

Learning Objective 2: Examine the roadblocks to promoting building science education in typical venues, and how they may be navigated.

Learning Objective 3: Learn about the role of DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) in promoting strong building science education.

Learning Objective 4: Discuss paths forward in multidisciplinary breakout groups and report out, with the goal of producing a white paper sharable within the building industry.
